Dropping Knowledge



On September 9, 2006, 112 of the world's great minds will come together around the world's largest table in Berlin. They will answer 100 questions chosen out of thousands donated by the global public.

"Dropping Knowledge is a global initiative to turn apathy into activity. By hosting an open conversation on the most pressing issues of our times, we will foster a worldwide exchange of viewpoints, ideas and people-powered solutions"

...whether they will achieve anything is another Question.

Paper Sculptures



UK designer Richard Sweeney's 3-dimensional sculptures are made from the most ordinary of materials: plain old paper. The intricately folded forms are absolutely striking in their clean symmetry and the shadows cast by the curves and crevices. You can stare with jaw-dropped awe at most of his paper sculptures at his flickr page. Geometry has never looked so good...

Styleboost is back!



Finally... after a very impatient wait (yes patience is not one of my virtues) Styleboost is back. All CSSed-up, XHTMLized and packed with Web2.0 stuff. Hmmm... I'm still undecided about the redesign. I think I like it, but it's going to take a bit getting used to the new design. Anyhow it's still showcasing outstanding websites since 2001.

Design Melt Down

Recently I came accross an article in Design Melt Down about the use of columns in websites and to my surprise my Vahagn Art Gallery website was mentioned as an example of creative use of columns.

Electrolux Design Lab '06

The challenge this year is to design food preparation and preservation appliances that would help the consumer of 2016 "change bad eating habits to healthy eating habits."
